Wow, what weather and what a shootout in the High Power match this month!   We had some great shooting turned in with some cold and windy conditions mixed with a little rain.   Oh well, that is what separates the men from the boys, elements or not, you just have to shoot through them.   We had nine shooters for this match and had a great time slingin ' lead.  

Congratulations to Steven Lunsford Jr. who took the High Master class along with the overall match winner.   It was by the hair of his chinny chin chin as Steven and John Friguglietti turned in the same score (779) but Steven had the edge with 2 more “X's”. My hat is off to both those shooters as that was some excellent shooting.   Chris Bicking took the Expert class where he continues to make progress each match.   Ol ' Deadeye ex-sling shooting Brian “Spoon” Witherspoon took the Marksman class as he has readjusted his offhand stance to give the field a chance.  

We had six shooters compete in the 20 round any rifle/any sight fun match at the end of the High Power match.   Even the wind and ran couldn't stop some really good scores being turned in.   Once again, Brian “Spoon” Witherspoon took the match edging out the competition with 1 more X …   must be those custom hand loads.   He is such a generous guy; he likes to help his fellow shooters out by adding some holes to their targets to make sure they have enough hits.   Next time, how about one in the X ring instead of the 10 ring, I could have used it. Congratulations Spoon, great shooting!   Be sure to keep this match in mind and come on out for next month's match.   So come on out, get in on the fun while you can. See you then, and remember, keep your powder dry!
